2007 Lakeshore Drive

One of the very few true Lake Austin waterfront lots with sweeping, unobstructed views of the downtown Austin skyline, 2007 Lakeshore Drive pairs rare city vistas with a calm no-wake stretch of water—an extremely scarce pairing on the lake. Offered with a fully realized, permitted architectural vision by Matt Fajkus Architecture, the design anticipates an approximately 13,860 sq ft contemporary estate with ~10,327 sq ft of conditioned living space and ~3,533 sq ft of covered outdoor areas and four car garage. Embedded into the hillside, the proposed residence uses intersecting wood and stone volumes and long horizontal roof planes to unify interior and exterior and to choreograph movement down the slope, revealing the lake and skyline in a series of dramatic framed vistas. Conceived as a series of terraced pavilions stepping toward the water, the main residence is oriented to capture panoramic downtown and lake views from almost every principal room. The planned program includes five bedrooms, six full and two half baths, and a detached ~1,200 sq ft guest suite for guests or staff. An owners’ level spans a wrap-around balcony with outdoor shower, private meditation deck, library, and office, while a sculptural staircase connects split-level living, kitchen, and dining areas to expansive entertaining terraces. At the water’s edge, the existing “Filtered Frame Dock” by Matt Fajkus Architecture anchors the property as a completed, award-winning work of architecture. Engineered with a minimal footprint and a sculptural steel canopy, the dock’s upper-deck lounge is designed to frame the lake while modulating sun, shade, and breeze throughout the year. Recognized with multiple national and international design awards and featured in leading design publications, it is one of the most celebrated residential docks on Lake Austin.
